Tavel - Rose
Wine produced from organically grown grapes
Reasonable alcoholic strength, underlining this fresh and soft wine with red fruit aromas. The same impressions are found on the palate combined with a lingering, elegant taste and good balance between acidity and roundness.
Vintage : 2011
Soil : This four-hectare parcel (just over 12 acres), once part of the garrigue scrubland until it was cleared in the 1950s, generously provides all those special characteristics which makes a great Rosé wine. These limestone fields, or lauses, may only allow low yields, but they are also responsible for immense aromatic depth and a long finishe.
Grape varieties : Grenache 50% - Cinsault 20% - Clairette 15% - Syrah 15%
Average vines age - 45 years.
Vinification : The harvest is brought in by night to prevent oxidation and avoid high temperatures. A long maceration period of 24 to 36 hours follows to extract the grapes’ primary aromas.
Wine and food : you can drink our Tavel all year long as an aperitif or with cooked fish, mediterranean and spicy food, dessert (chocolate cake)...
To keep the wine : the rose is usually not a wine to keep a long a time but Tavel can be kept for the 4-5 years.
